Property in Turkey by city: how to find the right one
Turkey has more than 8,000 kilometres of coastline, and you can buy property almost anywhere. The question is not where it is beautiful, but where it suits you. That is why the pages here are sorted by region, and every town page tells you the same things: location, airport, who the place suits, what apartments, houses and plots there are, and what we check on the ground.
The Mediterranean coast around Antalya is the classic: Alanya with Mahmutlar and Oba, Side, Kemer, Antalya itself with Lara and Konyaaltı. Antalya airport has direct flights from every German city, the winters are mild, and many Germans live here all year round. Alpa Abi lives here too.
The Aegean with Izmir, Kuşadası, Didim and Çeşme is cooler in summer, windier, with Greek islands in sight and a life that depends less on tourism. Muğla with Bodrum, Fethiye, Marmaris and Göcek is the corner for villas, bays and sailing boats. Mersin in the east is affordable, with a long promenade and few tourists. Marmara with Istanbul is for investors and for Turks from Germany who know the city. And the Black Sea with Trabzon and Rize is green, winding and for anyone who has roots there.

Which place is the most popular?
Alanya, especially Mahmutlar and Oba, closely followed by Antalya and Side. They have the largest expat community, German-speaking doctors and direct flights all year round.
Where is it cheapest?
In Mahmutlar, Manavgat, Avsallar, Mersin and Didim, apartments start well under 100,000 euros. Bodrum, Kalkan and Çeşme are the expensive corner.
